Building the Workforce of Tomorrow
Welcome to TVA STEM Ready, a resource for teachers and students joining the study of science, technology, engineering and math.
STEM studies stimulate young minds today, and prepare a workforce for the jobs of tomorrow. These lessons—designed by Tennessee Valley teachers for practical use in the classroom—may be formative steps of tomorrow’s doctors, civil engineers, nuclear scientists, computer programmers or robot designers. With a strong foundation in STEM learning, the potential is limitless.
These lessons are also an investment in the future of the Tennessee Valley, which is always evolving to become a better place to live, work and play.
NEWS! We’re proud to announce that TVA, in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Incorporated (a TVA retiree organization) and Battelle Education, has awarded more than $580,000 in mini-grants to 150 schools throughout the Tennessee Valley. “We had entries for things like safety goggles for science labs, but we also had projects like engineering and building solar-powered drones,” said TVA Community Relations Program Manager Rachel Crickmar. “It was a great cross-section of projects, very representative of life in the Valley.” Click here to read more, or download the list of winning schools.
TVA and Dollywood—TVA and Dollywood both love their homes in the Tennessee Valley and go to great strides to give back to the community. What better way to celebrate this common passion than to work together to provide free educational resources for teachers and students?
